Many of you have inquired about the status of Salty Eggs, and we’re flattered and very humbled you miss us! However, the founding members have decided to pursue other opportunities, excepting rare instances when we think Salty Eggs’ particular brand of commentary is needed and/or could result in much-needed community awareness. Tom Bowker’s recent piece on the shuttering of Miami Dade libraries is such an example. We thank you for following us and believing in us. It was a wonderful ride offering gutsy, unfiltered critiques on subjects that matter to us and our communities. We’ll be back when or if South Florida needs us.
In the meantime, check out the essays which earned us third place in the Best Blog category at the 2013 Green Eyeshade journalism awards:
Dan Sweeney: “How the West Was Lost”
Brandon K. Thorp: “Life and Death on the Drive”
Monica Uszerowicz: “Holly Hunt’s Gavin Perry Values Aura of Process in Music and Art”
